SANTIAGO.- With the echoes of Marcelo Salas' goals at Centenario Stadium in Montevideo still ringing in the ears of his fans, the Chilean National Soccer Team will take the field tonight at the National Stadium bent on the important task of defeating Paraguay and strengthening their chances to classify to the next World Cup in South Africa.
The "Red" could total 7 points and catch up to Paraguay, which, for now, occupies an anticipated third place on the position table.
In order to cement this achievement, Marcelo Bielsa will place his money on the same base line-up of players that he has been using since the first match, except for the forced absences, which he undoubtedly regrets, of Arturo Vidal and Gonzalo Jara.
Vidal should be substituted by midfielder Claudio Maldonado, who has recovered from illness, and Jara by Miguel Iturra, who was suspended during the match against Uruguay.
The only decision left for the Paraguayans will be addressed mere hours before the match. This is the decision regarding Daniel Caniza's muscle injury, which may call for his substitution by Carlos Bonet.
