SANTIAGO.- The Chilean National Soccer Team's campaign to the 2010 semi-finals in South Africa has kept it in sixth position, which is the same place it occupies among the South American classification in the October FIFA ranking.
In the general classification, the team directed by Marcelo Bielsa continues in the 45th position.
The sharpest rise was that of Colombia, which moved up eight positions to occupy the 17th slot. Paraguay is now 21st (after moving up five spots) and Uruguay has fallen 10 spots, placing it currently in the 27th position.
Farther down the chart are Ecuador (56th), Venezuela (62nd), Perú (63rd) and Bolivia (106th).
Argentina kept the honor of being the best team, despite its surprising loss to Colombia during the classification matches as well as the victories of Brazil and Italy.
Argentina has 1,523 points on the FIFA scale, followed by Brazil with, 1,502 and Italy, with 1,498 points.
On last month's list, Argentina lead Brazil by 71 points and Italy by 146. The differences have now decreased to 21 and 25 points, respectively.
