SAN FERNANDO.- Just after 9:00 AM today, a inter-provincial minibus from the RGB line (which travels route I-50, providing service between San Fernando and Chimbarongo) fell into the waters of the Tinguiririca River in the Sixth Region.

According to initial reports, the vehicle was carrying approximately seven people, four of which were injured along with the driver of the bus. All of the victims were taken to San Fernando Hospital with serious, but non-critical, injuries.

Police and emergency teams arrived at the scene along with District Attorney Nestor Gómez in order to determine the cause of the accident.

According to the Public Ministry in the Sixth Region, the driver of the minibus stated to the District Attorney that the accident happened when he tried to swerve to avoid hitting another bus (of which no traces or records have been found), causing him to lose control of the vehicle and fall into the river.
