SANTIAGO.- Although he recognized that he was against expelling Adolfo Zaldívar from the Christian Democratic Party, the ex minister Jaime Ravinet called the "red-headed" senator to take on a more humble attitude towards the Supreme Court and apologize.

"I am taking this opportunity to make a call of humility. He should go to the Supreme Court, present his defense without a haughty attitude and explain, or try to apologize for his behavior, not because he thinks differently or has criticism regarding the government or the party", said the DC national councilor during an interview on Radio Cooperativa.

Regarding the future of the party, the ex minister of Defense stated that the current "crisis" could go even deeper and cause a "split" if Zaldívar is expelled.

Concerning the possible origin of the situation, Ravinet maintained that, in his opinion, "there is a conflict of power".

He also warned that "acting permanently or continuously against party agreements (…) damages democracy and brings us closer to the methods of Chávez".
