A 10 billion-peso lawsuit has been filed against Transantiago

888 people who claim to be affected by the system's malfunction are demanding compensation.

SANTIAGO.- Citing detrimental effects to their quality of life, 888 Transantiago users are demanding more than 10 billion pesos by way of a new lawsuit that is being brought against the transportation plan.


The legal action accompanies a similar case that is also being handled by Attorney Felipe Betancourt, who has stated that he trusts that the courts will rule in favor of his clients.


The lawsuit, which is requesting economic compensation of 10.76 billion pesos, is being brought against the Treasury.


Radio Cooperativa has reported that, according to the plaintiffs, the request reopens the debate regarding whether the Government should provide economic compensation in response to damages caused by Transantiago
