Police investigate the death of a British businessman in Santo Domingo

SANTO DOMIGO.- The coastal town of Santo Domingo is in turmoil after a well-known British businessman was found dead inside his home. The body of Michael Ronald Davis (57) was discovered with a wound in his left arm from a sharp, pointed object.

Police officers who arrived at the scene requested medical assistance from Claudio Vicuña Hospital in San Antonio.

According to reports from "Líder" daily in San Antonio, health officials confirmed the death of the British citizen. The Criminal Investigation Force (Bicrim) is currently performing an autopsy hoping to reveal more facts.

Despite the suggestion of suicide that has emerged from preliminary observations, San Antonio investigators have not yet ruled out the possibility of third party involvement.

Davis, who had been living in the exclusive coastal area for a year along with his seven-year-old son, made his living crafting fine wood furniture and ran the company's offices out of his home.
