RANCAGUA.- The fourth victim of yesterday's tragic accident has been identified as 30 year-old Carolina Tatiana Arias Gutiérrez. Four young adults drowned after their vehicle fell into an irrigation canal in Machalí, trapping the passengers inside.

The identification of Carolina Gutiérrez took longer than that of the other three victims due to the fact that she was not carrying any type of identification at the time of the accident.

The crash happened at approximately 6:30 AM yesterday in the sector of the Machalí ravine when the driver, 29 year-old Carlos Videla Morales, lost control of the vehicle.  The car then ran off the narrow country road and fell into the high waters of the Cachapoal Canal.

Also in the vehicle at the time were 25 year-old Francisco Díaz Baterrechea, regional president of the UDI youth organization, as well as 31 year-old Ana Rosa González Ojeda.
