Other companies such as Banmédica, Forus, Salmones Multiexport, Parque Arauco, Socovesa and Sonda are also joining.

SANTIAGO.- The Santiago Stock Exchange added 9 new company stocks to its main index (IPSA) for 2008. Meanwhile, the same amount of companies is abandoning the IPSA.


Stocks being added to the IPSA include the Compañía General de Electricidad (CGE), the Banmédica holding, Forus retail chain, the electricity-generating cooperation Genur, Salmones Multiexport, Parque Arauco, as well as the construction group Salfacorp, Socovesa and Sonda.


On the other hand, companies leaving the blue-chip index include Aguas Andinas, Campos Investment Company, Colo Colo, Invercap, Invermar, Quiñeco, Security Sociedad Matriz del Banco de Chile Serie B (SM CHILE B) and Tattersall.
