AUCKLAND.-  After debuting a stellar season with his victory over New Zealand player G.D. Jones (6-4 to 6-2) , Massú  is looking to make it to the quarterfinals for the ATP Auckland tournament (New Zealand, 464 million dollars on cement) starting at 12:30 AM on Wednesday.

The Olympic champion will take on the winner of match between Finnish player Jarkko Nieminem (no. 26) and Belgian player Xavier Malisse (no. 165), which was cancelled due to rain.

Assuming bad weather does not intervene, Massú will face the winner of the aforementioned duel at the fourth round in court 6 of the Asb Bank Tennis Center.

Fernando González (no. 7 in the world) plans to make his debut at the Melbourne Kooyong Classic tournament at approximately 1:00 AM, playing against Argentine David Nalbandian (no. 10).

González, Chile's number one player, is currently training for the Australian Open, which begins next Monday. Last year González was defeated in the final match by the number one player in the world, Roger Federer.
