SANTIAGO.- Police officers from the 11th Lo Espejo Police Station apprehended four intruders posing as detectives who had entered a home and robbed a family in the municipality.

The burglary occurred just after 12:00am this morning at a house located on the street of Urano. The four suspects arrived at the home sporting two false police detective badges and were armed with 2 automatic pistols, as well as a 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun.

According to Chief of Police Rodrigo Muñoz, the assailants threatened the family and stole a laptop computer, a plasma television, and some clothing.

A neighbor phoned police to inform them of the incident while the robbery was taking place. The police officers arrived just as the suspects were leaving the home and were able to pursue and arrest the individuals shortly afterward.

Police also seized the suspects' loaded weapons as well as the fake badges that had been made out of metal foil.

All four intruders are being presided over by the South Public Attorney's office.
