SANTIAGO.- Fernando González (ATP no. 7) will play his fourth-round match at the Australian Open during the second session at the Rod Laver Arena.
The Chilean player is set to play against Croatian player Marin Cilic (no. 57) at some point after 11:00 PM, following a face-off between Russian players Anna Chakvetadze and Maria Kirilenko at 9:00 PM.
González made it to the round featuring the tournament's top 32 players after defeating South Korean player Hyung Taik-Lee (no. 47) with a score of 4-6,6-3,6-2 and 6-4.
Cilic reached the round after leaving behind Jurgen Melzer (no. 73) with a score of 6.4, 6-3 and 6-4.
Cilic is a 6'5", 19 year-old player who is looking to propel himself to the top this year. His strongest weapon is his serve, and he has done well in previous tournaments in Saint Petersburg and Chennai.
Regarding his rival, González said: "I've trained with him a couple of times. He has a great serve, he might not move so well, but he is an aggressive and careful player".
