SANTIAGO.- The prime suspect in the homicide of lawyers Ana Patricia Alvarado and Allen McIntosh was arrested early this morning not far from the scene of the crime.
70 year-old Luis Alvarado was apprehended at 12:30 AM while walking down Ossa Avenue carrying a bag which contained an antique .38 caliber Colt pistol.
Alvarado had used the weapon to kill his daughter and her lover last Sunday after a heated family argument.
Alvarado confessed to the crime after he was arrested, blaming his actions on alcohol consumption. According to Cooperativa Radio, Alvarado stated that "I was drinking (…) I ask for forgiveness" and vowed to cooperate completely with investigators.
The murder took place in a residence located at 9123 Santa Josefina St., where the couple was found dead. Each of the victims had been shot twice.
