Ana González, the famed “Desideria”, dies at 92

SANTIAGO. - At 92 years of age, actress Ana González Olea, also known as “la Desideria”, passed away last night.

Her lawyer, David Torruella, communicated to El Mercurio that she died at 8:05pm in her apartment on Miraflores street in downtown Santiago.

She died as a result of urinary septic shock and a failure of both her kidneys and liver. The actress also suffered from an advanced case of alzheimers, which had kept her very debilitated for the last two years of her life.

Her death was confirmed by her personal doctor, Dr. Viviana Díaz Muñoz.

According to her lawyer, the actress´ body was taken early Friday morning to the Church of La Merced in downtown Santiago where her funeral will be held.

While in convalescence, Ana González had been under the care of her friend, Luz María Sotomayor, as well as her doctor and two nurses.
