TEMUCO. - A new bomb threat was reported this morning at the Portal Temuco mall, one of the city’s most important shopping centers.
Police have been working with investigators inside the mall since close to 10:00 AM this morning after a male voice called police to warn of an explosive device on the premises.
Previously defined procedures for such an event were immediately put into effect as police officers were dispatched to the scene to search the area.
The building was not evacuated, although access to the shopping center was blocked to prevent additional people from entering.
According to Radio Bío Bío, there were only 400 people located inside at the time of the threat, which came just as the mall was opening for the day.
