SANTIAGO.-  After flights were forced to be cancelled yesterday due to low visibility caused by ash being emitted from the Chaitén volcano, LAN announced this morning that, due to a change in weather conditions at the Puerto Montt Airport, service to and from the city has resumed.

The company also announced that two special flights would be performed today in order to transport the passengers that were supposed to have flown yesterday.

By way of a press release, the company assured that it would be continuously monitoring the situation in order to offer updated information on the status of flights in Puerto Montt.

In addition to helping passengers change the dates of their flights, the company has stated that anyone requiring information concerning flights or itineraries can call directly to 600 526 2000, for 24-hour assistance.
