SANTIAGO.- Fernando Astengo has left Colo Colo.  It is that simple.   The man who was, until today, the team coach has reportedly left the club due to constant criticism of his performance.

The information was confirmed this morning to El Mercurio by a member of the team board of directors, Gustavo Hasbún, who said that the trainer had announced his “non-negotiable” resignation today.

“I don’t know the real reasons behind his decision to resign and we will meet this afternoon to determine what measures will be taken”, Hasbún added.

Fernando Astengo had been experiencing problems for quite some time due to criticism from the press and fans.  On one occasion, on his way out of a press conference, the trainer had even shouted:  “it is easier to be a journalist than a coach”, clearly upset by the questions being asked by the media.
