LONDON.- Copper closed today with a gain of 2.24% at the London Metal Exchange (LME) after trading for $3.55707 U.S. dollars per pound of "grade A" material, compared to the $3.47905 U.S. dollars registered on Wednesday and $3.39151 U.S. dollars reported on Tuesday.
As a result, the monthly average was situated at $3.46145 U.S. dollars, while the annual average fell to $3.67749 U.S. dollars.
The future 3 month price ended at USD $3.51307 per pound, up 2.35% from Wednesday (USD $3.43143).
At the LME, stocks rose by 400 metric tons, reaching 156,525 MT.
