SANTIAGO.- Everything is set. The time has come and Marcelo Pablo Barticciotto has officially been put in charge of the Colo Colo squad as of today (Thursday August 28th, 2008).

The club's new Argentine coach arrived in Macul at approximately 9:00 AM this morning to meet with his assistant coach, Luis Pérez.

Baricciotto was all smiles as he made his first steps into the Monumental Stadium as the new "Cacique" trainer.

Previously, Barticciotto had been working for the Universidad de Concepción, where he coached the team to the final match of the 2007 Clausura tournament during his first season.

Later however, the results were not quite so positive. The team finished 16th out of 21 groups and was not able to classify for the 2008 Apertura playoffs.

At this year's Clausura tournament, the team continued to struggle with poor performances, prompting Barticciotto to resign following the club's eighth match, which they tied with Santiago Morning.

Barticciotto has now joined the team of his dreams and plans to, as he himself has stated, "win it all". The new coach has some big shoes to fill however – inheriting a team that took the lead in the championship last night after defeating Unión Española with a score of 2-1.
