LONDON.- Copper closed today with a 1.80% drop at the London Metal Exchange (LME) after trading for USD$ 3.40648 per pound of "grade A" material, compared to USD $3.46908 on Thursday and USD$ 3.45910 on Wednesday of this week.
As a result, the monthly average ended at USD$ 3.46304, while the yearly average fell to USD$ 3.67125 per pound.
Meanwhile, the future-3-month price ended at USD$ 3.37926 per pound, down 1.84% from Thursday (USD$ 3.44277).
At the LME, stocks rose by 3,325 metric tons, to 173,375.
