SANTIAGO.- Conchalí police and the North Central Public Prosecutor's Office are currently investigating a "moon landing" style robbery that took place early this morning at a pharmacy located on the corner of south Pedro Fontova and Nahuelbuta, in the neighborhood of La Palmilla.

The owner of the "La Palmilla" pharmacy, Carmen Guerea, stated that the incident probably occurred at approximately 3:30 AM, when neighbors reported hearing a noise in the area. It was not until 5:00AM however that a neighbor realized that a vehicle had been left inside the store.

According to preliminary investigations, an undetermined number of individuals arrived in a burgundy colored Nissan V-16, rammed their way through the metal curtain protecting the pharmacy and ended up inside the establishment.

After entering the pharmacy, the suspects got out of the vehicle and proceeded to steal medications as well as the cash register, which was later found empty some three blocks away. The merchandise and cash stolen are worth an evaluated total of three million pesos.
Officers from the Eneas Gonel Police Station, the Theft Unit of Police as well as the Vehicle Search and Report Association arrived at the scene since the automobile used in the robbery had been reported stolen.  The officials are currently investigating the burglary case as well as the stolen car.
