LONDON.- Copper closed with a 2.06% loss today at the London Metal Exchange (LME) after trading for US$ 1.66242 per pound of "grade A" material, compared to US$ 1.69734 on Wednesday and US$ 1.61728 on Tuesday.
As a result, the monthly average fell to US$ 1.68925, while the yearly average slipped to US$ 3.31903.
Meanwhile, the future-3-month price ended at US$ 1.67602 per pound, down 2.51% from Wednesday (US$ 1.71912).
At the LME, stocks rose by 2,375 metric tons to 288,725. So far this year there has been an accumulated increase of 91,275 MT (+46.23%).
