SANTIAGO.- Jealousy could be to blame for a new incident involving Edmundo Varas on Cerro San Cristóbal, where he was found unconscious last night after apparently consuming a large amount of pharmaceutical drugs.

According to sources close to the winner of reality television show "Amor Ciego", the young man was devastated after seeing his girlfriend, Françoise Perrot, flirting on the program "Yingo".

"Alfombra Roja" reported that Varas lost control after seeing his girlfriend kissing someone during the portion of the popular teen show called "make out roulette".

The host of "Yingo", Hotuiti Teao, claimed that it is not right to make such a big deal about a "simple peck". "You have to take it as a game, separating fiction from reality", he declared, while stressing that Varas' response indicates an personal problem.

This morning, Varas was reportedly having his stomach pumped at the Salvador Hospital in an effort to help him detoxify his body after the consumption of alcohol and pharmaceutical drugs that left him unconscious beneath the statue of the Virgin on Cerro San Cristóbal.

Varas has undergone psychiatric testing to rule out any neurological damage and is expected to be discharged from the hospital sometime today.
