SANTIAGO.- The ATP semi-finals in Barcelona did not help Fernando González very much to improve his ranking.
The Chilean player climbed only one position in the classification announced today by the ATP.
Chile's number one tennis player is now listed as the Nº13 player in the worldwide circuit, based on points.
Meanwhile, fellow Chilean players Nicolás Massú and Paul Capdeville maintained their positions in 86th and 87th place, respectively.
At the top of the ranking, Rafael Nadal (who took first place at the Conde de Godó tournament for the fifth consecutive time) gained 200 points on his closest competitor in the ATP classification, Swiss player Roger Federer.
