SANTIAGO.- The Presidential Secretary General, José Antonio Viera-Gallo, stated today that the defeat that the government suffered, after the Senate's rejection of funds for Transantiago, has be caused by the "irresponsibility" of Parliamentary Members Fernando Flores and Adolfo Zaldívar.

In his opinion, the agreement that was reached by the Senators of the "Concertación" and the Alliance for Chile before the voting in Congress is a show of revenge against the government and the Concertación for personal motives, and not for a future common project.

The Minister confirmed that the steps needed to be taken will be evaluated today by the political committee and, although he recognized that sending a new project to Parliament is an option (as planted by the Alliance), said that the Executive Council does not trust the opposition to approve it.

Lastly, he indicated that the government has until the 30th of November to make a decision.
