LONDON.- Copper closed today with a 1.63% gain at the London Metal Exchange (LME) after trading for $3.05721 US dollars per pound of 'grade A', compared to $3.00823 US dollars on Friday and $2.94472 on Thursday (its lowest value in eight and a half months).
As a result, the monthly average shifted to $3.18338 US dollars and the yearly average to $3.25467 US dollars.
The future-3-month price ended at $3.07082 US dollars per pound, up 1.49% from Friday ($3.02569 US dollars).
At the LME, stocks rose by 975 metric tons, to 187,400. So far this year, a growth of 4,600 MT (+2.52%) has been accumulated.
