SANTIAGO.- Today, leaders of the Concertación parties announced their total support for the government to use a constitutional 2% (to be employed in the case of a catastrophe) in order to finance the plan for Transantiago until April of next year.
In the opinion of Camilo Escalona, who is the voice of the group, the rejection specified by the opposition of the idea to approve the statute, which would hand over resources to the system, is not so definite, but in the case that it did occur, he felt that the government "has the short-term funds to finance the plan".
Regarding the proposal that will be presented by RN presidential candidate, Sebastián Piñera, the senator did not hold back any of his criticism and even accused Piñera of "plagiarism".
"They wear Concertación clothing (…) minister Cortázar is directing the redesign. We have been working on this topic since before our opponents", he maintained.
In any case, the Member of Parliament later stated: "If they want to wear clothing that belongs to other people and give us votes, that's OK".
