LONDON.- Copper closed today with a 1.68% drop at the London Metal Exchange (LME) after trading for $3.00278 US dollars per pound of 'grade A', compared to $3.05721 US dollars on Monday and $3.00823 US dollars on Friday.
As a result, the monthly average has fallen to $3.17387 US dollars and the yearly average to $3.25385 US dollars.
The future-3-month price ended at $3.01639 US dollars per pound, down 1.77% from Monday ($3.07082 US dollars).
At the LME, stocks decreased by 400 metric tons, to 187,000. So far this year, an increase of 4,200 MT (+2.30%) has been accumulated.
