SANTIAGO.- The stigma of Claudio Borghi seems to be emerging whenever a team ends up without a coach. It happened in Chile before he arrived to Colo Colo: every time a club was looking for a coach, the Argentine's name appeared in the top three.
Now, something similar is happening to him, only this time, on an international level. Many Mexican teams have mentioned him and anytime a coach is needed, Borghi's name surfaces.
In Argentina, not only did the clubs Gimnasia and Esgrima have him on file; his name also appeared on the list for River Plate.
Yesterday, Gustavo Costas left Racing's list and Borghi's name showed up once again among probable replacements.
Borghi, also known as the "Bichi", however, is the fourth choice for the directors. The first, and most likely candidate is Ricardo La Volpe, who left Vélez after a disappointing season.
According to the newspaper "Olé", Antonio Mohamed and Osvaldo Ardiles have also been nominated.
"And, as always, Claudio Borghi's name is also among those being considered. The 'Bichi' is highly regarded for his offensive style, and currently continues with Colo Colo, although his contract is renewed on a monthly basis and he can leave whenever he wants", reads "Olé".
