SANTIAGO.- A team with expert offense. Three forwards, including one center and two wingers. This is what has been promised by Argentine Jorge Sampaoli, the new coach for the O'Higgins team of Rancagua.

The formation that the ex coach of the lower divisions of the Peruvian national soccer team has put together is very similar to that of the Chilean national team’s coach, Marcelo Bielsa. "The best way to defend yourself is with the ball, spending as much time as possible near your opponent's goal", specified the new head coach of the Rancagua-based team.

"My positioning will always be the same, a 4-3-3 formation, regardless of where my team is. This is not going to change. Now, if I see that the opponent only has two forwards, we’ll defend with three", he stated.

Concerning alternates, Sampaoli made it clear that he already has some players in mind.  "We have a list of names that we cannot reveal until they have been confirmed. The alternates that we need will be key positions, they will form the backbone. But we already have a clear idea of the players that we want and that will allow us to follow through with our intended strategy", he said.
