Chilean film “Padre Nuestro” to compete at Goya awards

Rodrigo Sepúlveda's feature has been selected to be among the four films that will compete for the award of "Best Foreign Film in Spanish".

MADRID.- The Chilean film "Padre Nuestro" ("Our Father") will go up against films from Peru, Cuba and Argentina in the category of "Best Foreign Film in Spanish" at the next Goya awards ceremony.


The Chilean film directed by Rodrigo Sepúlveda, who will also represent Chile at the next Oscar awards ceremony, contends with the Cuban film "La edad de la peseta" ("Age of the Peseta"), the Peruvian film "Mariposa Negra" ("Black Butterfly") and the Argentine film "XXY".


The XII Goya awards ceremony will be held on February 3rd and will present awards to the best of the Spanish film industry, but will also include a Latin American twist by recognizing and awarding films from the Americas.


Rodrigo Sepúlveda's film "Padre Nuestro", features performances by Jaime Vadell, Francisco Peréz Bannen, Amparo Noguera and Cecilia Roth and tells the story of a broken family that has to travel to the region of Valparaíso in order to reunite with "Caco", their dying father.
