Monterrey will not receive any more offers from Independiente for Humberto Suazo

"If they come, it'll only be for pleasure", said the Mexican team's vice-president with reference to the Avellaneda team's interest in acquiring the goal-scoring Chilean.

SANTIAGO.- Humberto Suazo's transfer to the Independiente de Avellaneda team was almost a given last week. The Argentine club was willing to put down the money Monterrey was asking for the transfer.

Now, however, everything has come to a halt and it looks as though dealings for the goal-scoring Chilean player have come to an end.

Luis Miguel Salvador, manager for the Monterrey "Rayados", stated in an interview with the sports periodical "Olé", that "up until now, nothing. Really nothing, eh. The only thing we received was a message from the president of Independiente stating that they had authorized three people to come and speak with us. Their representative said that they would be here on Saturday, but they didn't show up. Not on Sunday either. Not even…you want the truth? We are generally very polite here, but we are tempted to close the matter once and for all. If they come, they'll only come for pleasure".

The representative of Argentine player, Fernando Felicevich, also joked about the matter.

"Is Suazo coming?", he was asked. "Yes, it's true. He'll be here in San Luis on December 26th, on PlayStation" responded the agent.
