SANTIAGO.- Government Spokesperson Francisco Vidal lashed out against UDI senators Hernán Larraín and Jovino Novoa following their harsh criticism of ex President Lagos for his responsibility in the failed transportation system, Transantiago. Senator Novoa had also requested that the ex President leave the realm of politics for good.

"Whatever one asks of others in life should begin with them doing it themselves", the state secretary sharply advised.

Vidal also urged opposing Members of Parliament to evaluate their own political actions.

"To this day, I have never heard Senator Novoa exercise self-criticism with regards to any of his actions in office, when Pinochet was in power and he was the Government's General Sub-secretary" , he said energetically.

Vidal added in the same tone: "I haven't heard Senator Hernán Larraín acknowledge any mea culpa, condemn his own actions or take political responsibility for being involved with Colonia Dignidad (a detention and torture center of the Pinochet dictatorship). And what is Colonia Dignidad according to the law? A criminal association".
