MONTERREY.- The ex striker for Colo Colo, Humberto Suazo, is on the brink of a transfer to the Argentine team Independiente. Before that, however, he will receive a fine from his current club, the Monterrey Rayados, for refusing to practice with them yesterday.

Suazo looked very uncomfortable as he sat stern-faced, occasionally yawning, on the bench while he watched his team play a practice match.

"If he doesn't want to, we aren't going to force him, I can't make him run, if he sits there and says no, I'm not going to point a gun at him either; if he doesn't want to play soccer, he's better off going home to rest", said Coach Isaac Mizrahi in reference to Suazo's behavior.

The board of directors for Monterrey said that the forward should show up to practice today because he still belongs to the team. This despite the fact that Suazo may be gone in a matter of hours- the representatives for Independiente de Argentina are currently in Mexico closing the negotiations for his transfer.
