SANTIAGO.- A year-end house party ended abruptly early this morning after almost 500 young people tried to "crash" the event that was being held at a private residence in Las Condes. After not being able to get into the bash, they began to engage in disorderly conduct.

The incidents took place at 10:00 PM yesterday after two teenagers created an Internet invitation to a party at their house on the street Cerro El Cepo.

The guests arrived little by little, until the number grew to more than 500 adolescents between the ages of 15 and 18.

Neighbors were upset by the noise and called the police, who arrived at approximately 1:00 AM and asked the teens to go home. After being told by the youth that they would not leave, law enforcement officers had to call on Special Forces for back up.

Chief of the 47th Las Condes Police Station Edwin Valdés said that special deterrents were not used and that altercations with the minors lasted no more than an hour. Six arrests were made on charges of public disorder and one for possession of marijuana. All detained youth were released to their parents.

The family that held the party was fined for noise violation.
