Copper falls sharply, breaking its upward trend

The red metal registered a drop of 2.27% after trading for $3.04587 U.S. dollars per pound of "grade A".

LONDON.- Copper closed today with a 2.27% loss at the London Metal Exchange (LME) after trading for $ 3.04587 U.S. dollars per pound of "grade A", compared to $ 3.11663 U.S. dollars on Thursday and $ 3.00732 U.S. dollars on Friday the 21st.


As a result, the monthly average rose to $ 2.98575, while the yearly average fell to $ 3.23327 U.S. dollars.


The future-3-month price ended at $ 3.07127 U.S. dollars per pound, down 2.24% from Thursday ($ 3.14158 U.S. dollars).


At the LME, stocks increased by 125 metric tons, to 198,350. So far this year, an overall increase of 15,550 MT (+8.51%) has been accumulated.
