COQUIMBO. -  After three days of intensive searching, the police have still not been able to capture the five attackers (three men and two women) responsible for a shooting last Friday at San Pablo Hospital in Coquimbo. They were trying to free an inmate who was receiving medical attention at the facility.

Investigators, along with police officers from the SIP (Police Investigative Department) are currently performing traffic control blocks at several locations in the city, focusing specifically on the two departure and two entry points as well as roads connecting to the city’s adjacent areas.

In addition, police are still performing some flyovers to search for the suspects. Search efforts have been contained within the Region of Coquimbo because all leads have indicated that the fugitives remain in the area.

According to reports, investigators are also checking their data base for individuals with prior records of assault or armed robbery, felonies with which the assailants are charged.
