SANTIAGO.- The mayor of Huechuraba, Carolina Plaza, has issued an “official and formal” request to the National Comptroller’s Office today to investigate the misappropriations reported in her municipality, urging Joaquín Lavín´s son in law, Isaac Givovich, to take responsibility for his actions.

“I would love it if Isaac were man enough to speak for himself and not look for a spokesperson (Joaquín Lavín), because I am quite an old-fashioned lady”, Plaza said about the dispute.

Plaza asserted that she had evidence, unlike Joaquín Lavín who says only that he “believes” his son in law.   After comparing the situation to the biblical dispute between “David and Goliath”, the mayor said that Comptroller Ramiro Mendoza, “has accepted my request and will shortly inform me of the number of officials who will be going to municipal offices and how many of them will be going”.
