SANTIAGO.- After the president of the PS, Camilo Escalona, stated that with the Supreme Court ruling in favor of Codelco “the bloodsuckers have another reason to celebrate”, the secretary general of the National Renovation Party, Lily Pérez, reminded the senator that the conflict stems from his “own government administration” and is between its own institutions, referring to the Labor Association and the state-owned copper company.

This is why, Pérez stated, Escalona “must be referring to the bloodsuckers of his own government administration, since the leaders of Codelco belong to a government-controlled company”.

“Beyond what we as the National Renovation think of the Supreme Court ruling, the important issue here is that this is a conflict caused by the government itself, between institutions that are controlled and headed by Escalona´s administration”, added Pérez.

The secretary general also stressed that it was the Executive Branch that decided to take the situation concerning Codelco´s subcontracted workers to the courts and maintained, “the ruling has nothing to do with the private business sector”.
