SANTIAGO.-  Newborn baby Amaro Tolorza Días, who was allegedly burned by an electric blanket at the "Clínica Presbiteriana Madre e Hijo" medical facility, is currently listed in "extremely critical" condition.

The baby’s health status was revealed by the latest report issued this morning by the Clínica Santa María medical center, where the infant was taken after suffering the serious injuries.

According to the latest medical exams, the baby is also suffering from cerebral edema, which is further complicating the probabilities for her survival.

Radio Bio Bio announced that the report stated that the baby girl continues to be connected to a respiratory machine and is on dialysis, as well as hemodynamic support.

The infant will continue to be monitored over the next few hours, although the medical team treating her has indicated that she has rather poor chances for survival, due to the grave nature of the burns covering 30% of her body.
