SANTIAGO.- After the Independent Democratic Union (UDI) announced that the candidate for the Municipality of La Florida would be, against all predictions, the Mayor of Estación Central, Gustavo Hasbún, Gustavo Alessandri has asserted that “Pablo Longuiera and Juan Antonio Coloma are behind the unexpected nomination”.  Gustavo Hasbún had been the most promising pre-candidate to take power over the municipality.

Despite the fact that he had been chosen as the best Alianza candidate to run for head of La Florida by a poll taken within the Concertación itself, the former National Renovation deputy and current UDI deputy, Gustavo Alessandri, will not be the candidate chosen to go up against the PS-DC pact representative, actor Jorge Gajardo.

Alessandri stated that he does not know why the directors of the party chose to go with Hasbún, but indicated that “what is clear” is that Juan Antonio Coloma and decision the senator for East Santiago, Pablo Longuiera, are behind the decision.
