Pinilla awaits work visa to join Vasco de Gama

SANTIAGO.- It is now official- Chilean forward Mauricio Pinilla will be the newest member of the Brazilian soccer club, Vasco de Gama.

Pinilla, who previously played for the Heart of Scotland, has already passed his medical exams and is currently waiting for his work visa to be approved before he can be added to the Rio de Janeiro team.

"We are running against the clock with the Chilean's work visa. Sometime between today and tomorrow, we will have to decide whether we have time to register him in the Federation. We need to have his papers in order to do it before Friday", stated the director of Vasco de Gama, Carlos Alberto.

According the Brazilian team's management, everything should be straightened out by this weekend at the latest, so that Pinilla will be able to put on the team jersey as soon as possible.
