Police injured in crash in Lo Espejo

SANTIAGO.– Three Police officers ended up with numerous injuries after the vehicle that they were traveling in crashed in the municipality of Lo Espejo. The officers were responding to a complaint of domestic violence.

According to reports by Radio Cooperativa, the police were identified as Sergeant Major Luis Sánchez, and Officers Carlos Sepúlveda and Gabriel Quezada.

At the time of the incident, the officers were on their way the La Victoria holding center to provide backup for proceedings generated by a complaint of domestic violence. 

For reasons that are still under investigation, from one minute to the next the driver of the patrol car lost control of the vehicle, crashing into a public light post.

Following the impact, an extensive part of the Santa Ana neighborhood was left without electrical power, a situation that was remedied by the electric company over the course of the morning.
