Fire levels high school in Temuco: 800 students left without classes

TEMUCO.- At close to 4:00AM this morning a fire was reported at the Liceo Comercial de Temuco, located at Calle Mantua 1896.

All Temuco fire departments were dispatched to the scene of the blaze, where more than 80% of the school had been consumed by flames.  One volunteer fire fighter received minor injuries while trying to put out the blaze.  Police stated that the establishment possessed fire insurance.

Public Prosecutor Adelina Barriga has begun investigations to determine the cause of the fire at the school, which has more than 800 registered students.
