SANTIAGO. - Five fire departments were dispatched to downtown Santiago on the corner of Mac-Iver and Agustinas to control a blaze at an apartment building that also houses a hotel on its top floors.
According to Radio Cooperativa, the fire began just before six o’clock this morning, when billows of smoke and flames were seen coming from the fifth floor of the building.
In order to control the fire, it was necessary to evacuate the entire building. At approximately seven thirty this morning, the flames had been controlled and preliminary investigations were being performed to reveal the cause of the incident.
