Man dies after being stabbed by girlfriend in San Antonio

SANTIAGO. -  55 year-old Rodemil Espinoza died early this morning after been stabbed by his lover in the Villa Estoril sector of San Antonio in Region V.

According to reports released by the PDI, the man was attacked with a butcher knife by 48 year-old Erika Cornejo, who allegedly stabbed him during a violent argument between the two individuals inside the apartment they shared.

The man received a stab wound to the abdomen and was taken to the Claudio Vicuña Hospital, where he later died as a result of septicaemia and cardio-respiratory arrest.

Radio Digital FM stated that the man’s lover was taken into custody by the PDI after confessing to the crime and was placed under the jurisdiction of the San Antonio Penalty Court.

The dramatic case is similar to a situation that occurred on January 12th of this year, when 57 year-old cab driver Nelson Abarca Gómez was killed inside his home in the rural sector of Agua Buena in San Antonio, after his own wife, 31 year-old Silvia Hidalgo Esparzo, fired a shotgun at the man’s chest.
