LONDON.- Copper closed today with a 1.69% price hike at the London Metal Exchange (LME) after trading for US$ 1.54539 per pound of 'grade A' material, compared to US$ 1.51976 on Thursday and US$ 1.53178 on Wednesday of this week.
As a result, the monthly average rose to US$ 1.52316 and the yearly average went up to US$ 1.48097.
Meanwhile, the future 3-month price quote ended at US$ 1.56489 per pound, up 1.62% from Thursday (US$ 1.53995).
At the LME, stocks increased by 2,875 metric tons to 519,550. So far this year, there has been an accumulated increase of 179,775 MT (+52.91%).
