VALDIVIA.– One of the sons of Minister of Health Álvaro Erazo was arrested last night in the Municipality of Panguipulli, in the Región de los Ríos, after being caught selling a few grams of marijuana.
Joaquín Erazo Espinoza, age 24, will be processed for detention at 4:00 P.M. and will then be charged in the Supervisory Court of Panguipulli for the crime of selling drugs.
In 2006, when his father was the director of the Coroner's Office or the Servicio Médico Legal, the young man was sentenced to 540 days in prison for aggravated assault against another man in September of 2005.
He was also sentenced to pay the victim a sum of 10 UF monetary units for damages.
The victim, identified as Juan Pablo Verdugo, went into a coma after being beaten by Erazo with a bat as he was leaving a party.
