AISÉN.- An alert advising people not to go out driving in small cars in Río Bravo, Caleta Tortel, Villa O'Higgins, Camino Vagabundo and Lago Brown (Region XI), was announced this morning by the Chief of the Emergency and Civil Protection Office of Capitán Prat, Carlos Fuentes, due to the heavy rains that have already left 47 people stranded in the Region.

"Unfortunately, there is a lot of rain, a lot of water; the conditions are not amenable to tourism, and could be dangerous for.… (…) tourists who commonly come in small cars. I would recommend that they do not make the trip for now", stated Fuentes on Radio Cooperativa.

He went on to reiterate that on Route 7, and in Río Bravo and Villa O'Higgins, people are advised to drive with caution: in Camino Vagabundo and Caleta Tortel, roads are completely flooded; and in Camino Lago Brown, transit has been blocked completely.

The heavy rains registered in the zone that "are not very common in the province and even less so during this season", have left 47 people stranded, seven of whom are tourists on a parcel of land in Río Ventisquero.
