LONDON.- Copper closed with a slight loss today, this time only 0.02%, at the London Metal Exchange (LME), after trading for US$ 1.48370 per pound of 'grade A' material, compared to US$ 1.48393 on Monday and US$ 1.54539 on Friday.
As a result, the monthly average slipped to US$ 1.51661, although the annual average rose to US$ 1.48114.
Meanwhile, the future 3-month price quote ended at US$ 1.49731 per pound, down 0.72% from Monday (US$ 1.50820).
At the LME, stocks increased by 3,100 metric tons to 526,425. So far this year there has been an accumulated increase of 186,650 MT (+54.93%).
