Copper closes with slight loss at London Metal Exchange

The red metal registered a drop of 0.47%.

LONDON.- Copper closed with a 0.47% loss today at the London Metal Exchange (LME) after trading for US$ 1.44719 per pound of "grade A" material, compared to US$ 1.45399 on Monday and US$ 1.42882 on Friday.


As a result, the monthly average has fallen to US$ 1.49715, while the yearly average has slipped to US$ 1.47711.


Meanwhile, the future 3-month price quote ended at US$ 1.45875 per pound, down 0.62% from Monday (US$ 1.46783).


At the LME, stocks increased by 1,950 metric tons to 546,000. So far this year, there has been an accumulated increase of 206,825 MT (+60.87%).
